The project will use AI to automate newsroom research and content adaptation tasks. A research module will scan RSS feeds, websites and social media twice a day, providing journalists with organised, verified news leads. At the same time, a multimedia processing module will automate the conversion of verified news content into short videos and graphics for social media. This system will save journalists time, allowing them to focus more on investigative reporting, while providing fact-based information to users who primarily consume news via TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
Goals (expected) of the project
The project aims to improve newsroom efficiency and increase the availability of verified, fact-based journalism on social media. By automating repetitive research and formatting tasks, journalists can focus more on investigative reporting. The initiative addresses challenges to media pluralism by countering misinformation in social media-dominated news consumption, especially among younger audiences. It promotes a human rights-based approach by ensuring that diverse and marginalised voices are heard, and promotes inclusion and equality by adapting content to reach different demographic groups through accessible and engaging formats.
