COPENHAGEN - Through workshops, mentorships, and peer-to-peer collaborations, the project enables journalists and media to build up their capacities and thus report on European companies and institutions operating outside their homeland.

About the project
This project focuses on exposing new ethical perspectives on European corporations' environmental activities in the global south. The media partners from Mediabridge are uniquely placed in their local contexts to explore how outsourced entities operate with a less ethical approach when it comes to the environment dimensions of their businesses compared to how the companies operate in their homeland in Europe. Through workshops, mentorships, and peer-to-peer collaborations, the project run by Mediabridge enables the journalists and media in these countries to build up their capacities and thus report on these European companies and institutions.

For who?
For journalists and editors interested in Environment Investigations and cross border collaborations.

Practical information
On 27 and 28 September 2022 Mediabridge and its founders IMS and Danwatch will arrange a two day virtual workshop on investigative environment reporting for global partners and we hope you will attend or have a partner with a project you think should attend. The workshop will also give introduction to funding, networking, mentorship, and collaborative media plus seed funding the six best project ideas to be developed into investigations after the workshop.

The workshop will give you tools to make the best investigative environmental reporting from your region – eg how to use data, get access to satellite footage, Right to Information Acts, safety precautions, how to tell your story in an impactful way, and get funding to be able to really go in depth with your story.

If you are interested, please send an email to hgr@mediasupport.org and I will send you a link to sign up to. You are also welcome to ask for more information. Deadline for signing up is 20 September 2022.
