Aleksandr Shurshev is a Russian investigative journalist and the editor-in-chief of Chronicles.Media.

From 2003 to 2012, he worked as press secretary for the St Petersburg branch of the liberal Yabloko party. Between 2005 and 2007, he led the party's youth organisation. From 2009 to 2014, he served as a municipal councillor in one of St. Petersburg's districts. From 2012 to 2016, he was an assistant to a Yabloko party member of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly.

Between 2016 and 2018, he worked as an expert at Transparency International's St. Petersburg office. From 2018 to 2021, he was part of Alexei Navalny’s team in St. Petersburg. In 2019, he led the Navalny office’s campaign during the municipal elections in the city.

He has been living outside of Russia since 2021. He became editor-in-chief of Chronicles.Media that same year.
