Álvaro Caballero is an environmental journalist at the Radio Televisión Española (RTVE), the Spanish public broadcaster.
He studied journalism and humanities at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He has worked for the main Spanish news agency, Agencia EFE, in Madrid and Rome.
He primarily covers environmental and climate issues for the digital news department at RTVE. His coverage includes three climate summits (in Glasgow, Dubai and Baku), the refugee crisis at the Ukrainian border in 2022 and the conclave to elect the new pope in 2025. He is part of the 2024 cohort of the Oxford Climate Journalism Network.
