Cecilia Fasciani is a freelance journalist and documentary filmmaker, based in Italy.
She specialises in long-form and investigative reporting. She focuses her work on the Balkan region, the Caucasus and Western Asia, as well as marginalised areas in Italy, exploring environmental conflicts, armed crises, migration and human and social rights. Her work has appeared in Internazionale, RSI, IrpiMedia, the Green European Journal, Al Jazeera English, FQ Millennium, Altreconomia, L'Espresso and Prismag.
She works in the fields of in-depth reporting and independent cinema, combining journalistic investigation with documentary storytelling. Since 2021, she has been part of the Italian-based independent film collective and production company SMK Factory.
