A former story editor and reporter at The Intercept, she has written on war, surveillance, immigration, and other topics. She previously worked at ProPublica and the New Yorker, and her writing has appeared in Bookforum, the New Republic, Columbia Journalism Review, The Nation, and elsewhere. She is a co-founding editor of the feminist magazine Lux.
