Loes Debuysere is a Belgian freelance journalist whose path to investigative reporting began in academia.
With a background in Middle Eastern Studies and a PhD in Conflict and Development Studies, she spent over a decade researching conflict and social change in places such as Tunisia, Lebanon, Iraq, Eastern Congo, and Rwanda.
Today, she carries those insights into her work as a journalist, where she investigates questions of international cooperation, European politics and lobbying, and the environment. Her work is driven by a commitment to uncovering connections between global issues and local realities.
