Lorenzo Di Pietro is a Rome-based investigative journalist who takes a data-driven approach to his work.

His work covers corruption, fraud, migration and human and civil rights. He has worked with L'Espresso, La Repubblica, Il Fatto Quotidiano, Il Corriere della Sera, Rai TV, NBC, NRK and Die Zeit. He received the Tom Renner award with OCCRP for The Khadija Project. He won the Google DNI award with IRPI, of which he is a member. His photo reportage of migrants crossing the Sahara en route to Europe was awarded the High Patronage of the UNHCR.
