Nikolaj Houmann Mortensen is a Copenhagen-based investigative reporter specializing in supply chains, labor rights, conflict, and migration.
Since 2016, he has worked for the Danish daily newspaper Information, the investigative outlet Danwatch and the investigative unit at Airwars. His investigative work has been published in outlets such as the Financial Times, Al Jazeera English and Der Spiegel.
Together with Airwars, he won the Overseas Press Club Award in 2024 for investigations into Israeli airstrikes in Gaza and the Sigma Data Journalism Award in 2023 for reporting on Russia’s use of Iranian drones in Ukraine. While at Danwatch, he won the Danish Association for Investigative Journalism's Methodology Prize and the Anders Bording Journalism Award in 2020 for his work on Denmark's arms exports to Yemen.
