Pier Nicola Bellucci is a film director and screenwriter based in Basel.
Nicola Bellucci was born in Arezzo (Italy) in 1963. He studied philosophy, literature and film history at the University of Florence. In 1984, he completed his directing studies at the Istituto di Scienze Cinematografiche in Florence (Italy). In 1989 he founded the Internationalen Seminare für Filmgestaltung in Basel and organised seminars in collaboration with FOCAL in Basel until 1992 (with Ennio Morricone, Fredi Murer, Silvano Agosti, Raul Ruiz, among others).
Since 1990 he has worked as an editor, sound engineer, cinematographer and director. He has lived and worked in Basel (Switzerland) since 1996, when he founded the film production company Neuland Film. Some of his films have been shown at major international festivals and have received numerous awards.
