Sofía Caruncho Llaguno is a Spanish journalist who specialises in Chinese culture.
She runs a non-fiction book café in the heart of Madrid, Spain, which brings together readers and writers of non-fiction. She primarily writes chronicles and essays on the subject, which have appeared in literary magazines such as 5W, Altaïr, DangDai, Chopsuey, France 24, Nuestro Tiempo and LATE. She lived in China for six years, where she organised cultural events in Spanish and taught creative writing in English. In 2021, she won the 30 Years of Sanmao Travel Chronicle Award from the Cervantes Institute in Shanghai. In 2022, she participated in a residency at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai with Chinese artists.
