The Equality and Sustainability Association was founded in Miskolc in 2021.
The association runs its own online platform, Borsod24.hu, where a dedicated team of journalists reports on local and national news, investigating and highlighting the challenges faced by disadvantaged groups. These include people with low levels of education, the unemployed, the elderly, women, individuals with social integration difficulties, people with disabilities, Roma communities and sexual minorities.
The editorial team currently comprises six members, who are supported by external contributors and an administrator. While the team's main focus is on producing written content, it also frequently creates videos.
Over the past two years, Google Analytics data shows that Borsod24 has achieved over 10 million page views from 3.5 million users. Its social media audience is steadily growing, with 36,000 followers and 11,000 group members. The portal offers a credible alternative to government-influenced local newspapers and city media outlets.
