PRAGUE – Are you working on a cross-border investigative story but struggling to get it published?
Transitions and Journalismfund Europe invite you to join our upcoming workshop, "Ensuring Impact: How to Successfully Pitch and Publish Your Cross-Border Story". Designed specifically for European journalists or those covering European topics, this session will equip you with the essential skills and strategies to get your story noticed and published—whether in local media outlets in the countries involved or major international publications.
What to Expect
- Expert Guidance from Olaya Argüeso Pérez: With years of experience as an editor-in-chief and a deep understanding of the international media landscape, Olaya has seen journalists repeatedly fall into the same pitching traps. She’ll break down these common mistakes and show you how to stand out from the crowd.
- Real-World Applications: Learn from concrete examples of successful cross-border stories. This workshop will highlight practical approaches to overcoming challenges and achieving publication in both local and international media.
Lead Trainer
Olaya Argüeso Pérez has extended experience in cross-border investigations. She has been editor-in-chief at CORRECTIV, where she led its international investigations since 2019. After over a decade of reporting about the economy, business and finance at Spain's most important radio network (Cadena SER), Olaya expanded her expertise into data journalism and joined the Lede Program at Columbia University. She then joined CORRECTIV as a reporter and participated in cross-border investigations like The CumEx Files and Grand Theft Europe, which exposed multi-billion tax frauds happening all over Europe. Since 2023, she led CORRECTIV.Europe, a pioneering network of European local journalists who worked together in cross-border investigations.
This event is organised by Transitions as part of the PluPro project which is co-funded by the European Union and launched by Journalismfund Europe and Transitions.
